Pokemon 30th Anniversary Wave 3 & Ascended Heroes: The Australia Release Day Guide
The complete Australian release-day guide to the October 30 Pokemon TCG drops: the 30th Celebration Battle Decks and the Ascended Heroes Focused Fighters Premium Collection, retailer by retailer.
Contents
Last updated: 28 October 2026. Friday, October 30 is Wave 3 of the Pokemon TCG 30th Anniversary release schedule in Australia, and it's a bigger day than the wave number suggests: alongside the next 30th Celebration product, the long-awaited Ascended Heroes: Focused Fighters Premium Collection also lands in Australian retail stores on the same date.
If you've been following along, our Wave 2 release day guide covers how the Booster Bundle and Mini Tin drop went on October 2. This guide covers everything for October 30: product details, retailer operations, and availability expectations.
📦 What's Dropping October 30
30th Celebration: Battle Decks
Wave 3 of the 30th Celebration schedule is focused entirely on two pre-constructed Battle Decks:
- Battle Deck (Espeon ex) - expected AU RRP $40-$50
- Battle Deck (Umbreon ex) - expected AU RRP $40-$50
Unlike the Mini Tins in Wave 2, there's no secondary chase here beyond picking a side - these are standalone pre-constructed decks, not booster-pack products. For the full 30th Celebration schedule and every product released so far, see our 30th Celebration release guide and our 30th Anniversary card list.

This collection was never meant to be an Australian retail product - it launched as a US-only Sam's Club exclusive back in July. Its arrival at Australian retailers is the main event of this release wave, and demand already reflects that. We cover retailer allocations, pricing, and buying strategy for this specific product in exhaustive detail in Where to Buy Ascended Heroes: Focused Fighters Premium Collection in Australia - if you only read one linked guide today, make it that one.
🔄 What's Different About This Release
Wave 2 was defined by volume: Booster Bundles and ten Mini Tin artworks, spread across a wide allocation. October 30 is the opposite - a standard 30th Celebration product (the Battle Decks) sharing a release date with a genuinely scarce premium box pulled in from a previous set.
The Focused Fighters Premium Collection is expected to be difficult to secure. Online allocations at Kmart were heavily targeted by automated checkout bots, while EB Games, Toymate, and JB Hi-Fi have already pre-sold out of their stock ahead of release day. Our dedicated Focused Fighters guide has the full retailer-by-retailer breakdown of what's already gone, including what happened with the Kmart bot traffic. Consequently, release-day availability for the Focused Fighters box will rely almost entirely on in-store walk-in allocations at retailers that haven't sold through online yet.
The Battle Decks shouldn't see anything like the same pressure - pre-constructed decks are a lower-demand product category than premium collections or boosters, even within a hot set.
📍 Live Stock Tracking
In-store inventory is tracked in real time as retailers report stock levels. Before travelling to a store for either product, check our store inventory tracker, and our cross-retailer stock page for online listings as they go live.
To get notified the moment stock or online listings appear for the Battle Decks or the Focused Fighters Premium Collection, set up your CardTracker alerts.
🏬 Retailer-by-Retailer Availability
If you didn't secure a pre-order, here's the expected state of play at major retailers on release day:
- Kmart - Important operational change: notices indicate that 24-hour Kmart locations will no longer run midnight releases for high-demand trading card products. Stock will now be held and released to the floor at 8:00am instead.
- Big W - Walk-in availability in-store. Stock levels and release execution historically vary significantly between locations.
- Target - Walk-in model for physical stores. Target is typically slower to list products online, so expect any digital inventory mid-morning or early afternoon rather than at standard opening hours.
- Toymate - Generally reliable for in-store allocation with enforced limits. Their online allocation for Focused Fighters is already sold out.
- Toyworld - Typically dependable on release day, though individual store allocations vary.
- EB Games / JB Hi-Fi - Not expected to have release-day walk-in stock of the Focused Fighters Premium Collection, due to pre-sellouts. Availability for the 30th Celebration Battle Decks may vary in-store.
- Myer / David Jones / Kidstuff - In-store only. Availability is generally sporadic, but worth checking if you're already at a major shopping centre.

Grade with Ark →📋 Purchase Limits & Store Etiquette
Purchase limits are expected to be strictly enforced, particularly for the Focused Fighters Premium Collection, given low supply and high secondary-market demand.
Stick to whatever limit a store sets. Don't send multiple family members through to bypass a per-person cap, and extend retail staff the usual courtesy during what's likely to be a busy morning.
🃏 Independent and Local Card Stores
Independent hobby stores run their own separate supplier allocations and are often a calmer way to buy than the big-box chains. One note of caution: some independent retailers, including Treasure Collectables, have reportedly been listing the Focused Fighters Premium Collection at secondary-market rates rather than standard RRP - see our Focused Fighters buying guide for more on the pricing to expect.

👀 Looking Ahead: Waves 4 and 5
If you're pacing your spend across the rest of the 30th Celebration lineup: the Ultra-Premium Collections (Day & Night) land November 13, followed by the Ditto Premium Collection and the Mew & Mewtwo Figure Collection on November 20 - both delayed from an original November 6 target due to supplier logistics. (EB Games still lists a 5-pack version of the Sylveon ex / Greninja ex tin for that original November 6 date; the 4-pack version below is a separate Wave 5 product.) Wave 5 then closes out the schedule on December 4 with the Sylveon ex and Greninja ex 4-pack Tins.
Given how tightly the Ultra-Premium Collection pre-orders have already run, expect that one to be the biggest test of the whole 30th Celebration schedule. Set up tracking alerts now rather than waiting for it to sneak up on you. Full details and retailer pre-order status are in our 30th Celebration pre-orders guide, and our full release calendar has every wave plus everything else coming up in Pokemon TCG Australia.
