What Makes This Set Different

Three things set 30th Celebration apart from standard expansions like Chaos Rising or Ascended Heroes.

Every Card Is Foil

Not just the rares. Every card pulled from a 30th Celebration booster pack has a foil treatment, including Common and Uncommon cards and Basic Energy. This mirrors how the 25th Celebrations set worked in 2021 and makes every pack opening feel premium.

30 Pikachu Cards

Each booster pack contains one Pikachu card from a set of 30 unique designs. These span Pikachu's history across the TCG's three decades. Completing the full Pikachu subset is a collecting goal in itself.

Futuristic Rare

A brand new rarity tier introduced specifically for this anniversary set. Details on pull rates and card count are still emerging, but Futuristic Rare cards sit above standard Ultra Rares in the rarity hierarchy. Expect these to be among the most sought-after pulls.

Classic Collection

A subset of reprinted cards from across the TCG's 30-year history. The Base Set Charizard and the Pikachu and Zekrom Tag Team GX have been officially confirmed as part of the Classic Collection. The Ultra-Premium Collections each include a dedicated Classic Collection booster pack containing three cards from this lineup.

Release Schedule: Four Waves

Products do not all drop on September 16. The 30th Celebration set follows a staggered release across four waves, similar to how Ascended Heroes handled its booster bundle timing.

Wave Date Products
Wave 1 September 16, 2026 ETB, Pokemon Center ETB, 2-Pack Blister, Knock Out Collection, Poster Collection, Tech Sticker Collections, Sylveon ex Box, Greninja ex Box, Binder Collection
Wave 2 October 2, 2026 Booster Bundle, Mini Tins (10 designs)
Wave 3 October 30, 2026 Battle Deck (Espeon ex and Umbreon ex)
Wave 4 November 6, 2026 Ditto Premium Collection, Ultra-Premium Collection Day, Ultra-Premium Collection Night, Figure Collection (Mew and Mewtwo)

If you want packs on day one, your options are the Wave 1 products. The booster bundle does not arrive until October 2.

Every Product: What Is Inside and Expected AU Pricing

Prices below are estimates based on comparable products from recent sets (Ascended Heroes, Chaos Rising). Actual Australian RRP may differ when retailers list pre-orders. All prices are in AUD.

Wave 1: September 16, 2026

Elite Trainer Box | Expected ~$100-120 AUD

The standard entry point for collectors. Includes:

Pokemon Center Exclusive Elite Trainer Box | Expected ~$100-120 AUD

Available only through Pokemon Center Australia, if they actually sell it (there's no guarantee!). Most Australians will likely source this off eBay. Upgraded version with:

2-Pack Blister | Expected ~$15-20 AUD

Knock Out Collection | Expected ~$15-20 AUD

Both the 2-Pack Blister and Knock Out Collection include the same Eevee promo. These are the cheapest way to grab a couple of packs on launch day.

Poster Collection | Expected ~$45-55 AUD

The Kanto legendary bird trio as foil promos makes this appealing for collectors who want display-worthy cards alongside their packs.

Tech Sticker Collections | Expected ~$30-40 AUD each

Two versions available:

Sylveon ex Box | Expected ~$50-65 AUD

Greninja ex Box | Expected ~$50-65 AUD

Binder Collection | Expected ~$55-70 AUD

Useful if you plan to collect the full set and want dedicated storage. The binder is themed to the 30th Celebration.

Wave 2: October 2, 2026

Booster Bundle | Expected ~$55-65 AUD

No accessories, no promos. Just packs. Based on current EB Games pricing for bundles from other sets (~$59 AUD), this should land in a similar range. Solid cost-per-pack value if you already have sleeves and storage. For a breakdown of how bundles compare to ETBs and booster boxes, see our booster bundle guide.

Mini Tins | Expected ~$15-20 AUD each

These are collectible packaging plays. The tins themselves become display pieces, and the day/night motif ties into the set's broader theme reflected in the Ultra-Premium Collections.

Wave 3: October 30, 2026

Battle Deck: Espeon ex and Umbreon ex | Expected ~$30-40 AUD each

Both decks are entirely foil, which is unusual for pre-built products. The Illustration Rare promos of Victini and Zeraora are exclusive to these decks, making them relevant for collectors even if you never shuffle them up.

Wave 4: November 6, 2026

Ditto Premium Collection | Expected ~$75-95 AUD

The acrylic display is the standout here. Eight packs puts this in strong value territory for a premium collection, and the Ditto promo adds a fan-favourite to the set.

Ultra-Premium Collection: Day | Expected ~$350-450 AUD

The flagship product for the entire 30th Celebration. Includes:

At 30 total packs, this is the largest sealed product in the set. The Classic Collection booster pack is only available in the UPCs, making it the sole way to pull those nostalgic reprints from packs.

Ultra-Premium Collection: Night | Expected ~$350-450 AUD

Same structure as the Day version, with night-themed variants:

Umbreon has been one of the most popular Pokemon in the TCG collecting space for years. The night-themed UPC with an exclusive Umbreon ex promo will likely be the harder of the two to find at retail.

Figure Collection: Mew and Mewtwo | Expected ~$65-85 AUD

Details on this product are still limited. The combination of two iconic legendary Pokemon as figures alongside 30th Celebration packs positions this as both a collecting and display piece.

Chase Cards to Hunt

Futuristic Rare Cards

The new Futuristic Rare rarity sits at the top of the pull rate hierarchy for this set. Card reveals are still rolling out, but these will be the most valuable pulls from 30th Celebration booster packs.

Classic Collection Reprints

Base Set Charizard and Pikachu and Zekrom Tag Team GX are confirmed. Additional Classic Collection cards have not been officially revealed yet. These reprints carry nostalgic weight and will be high on collector wishlists, particularly the Charizard.

The Classic Collection booster packs are exclusive to the Ultra-Premium Collections (Day and Night). Each UPC contains one Classic Collection pack with three cards.

The 30 Pikachu Cards

Every booster pack contains one of 30 unique Pikachu rare cards. Completing the full set of 30 is a standalone collecting challenge. Individual Pikachu designs featuring iconic moments or art styles from across the TCG's history will likely command premiums.

Product-Exclusive Promos

Several promos are only available in specific products:

If you are chasing a complete promo set, you will need at least one of each product type.

Confirmed Pokemon ex in the Set

Based on official reveals, the following Pokemon ex appear in 30th Celebration booster packs:

Additional Pokemon ex will be revealed as September approaches.

25th Celebrations vs 30th Celebration

For collectors who remember the 25th Anniversary set from 2021, here is how the two compare.

25th Celebrations (2021) 30th Celebration (2026)
Base Set Size 25 cards 128 cards
All Foil Yes Yes
Classic Collection Yes (25 reprints) Yes (count TBD)
Special Rarity No Futuristic Rare
Pikachu Subset No 30 unique Pikachu cards
Packs Per ETB 10 9
Ultra-Premium Collection 1 version 2 versions (Day and Night)
Product Waves Single release 4 staggered waves
Pack Size 4 cards 5 cards + 1 energy

The 30th Celebration is a substantially larger set. At 128 base cards versus 25, there is far more to collect. The staggered release schedule also spreads the buying window across nearly two months, which gives collectors more time to budget.

Pricing Watch

Be cautious with early pre-order pricing. Some retailers list inflated prices well above expected RRP before official pricing is confirmed. If you see an ETB listed above $150 AUD or a UPC above $350 AUD before official RRP is announced, that is likely above what major retailers will charge.

How to Approach the Set as a Collector

Budget collectors: Start with the ETB on September 16 for the best balance of packs, promos, and accessories. Add a booster bundle in Wave 2 for six more packs at strong cost-per-pack value.

Completionists: You will need at least one of every product type to collect all exclusive promos. Both UPC variants are essential for the Classic Collection packs and the exclusive Pikachu ex, Espeon ex, and Umbreon ex promos.

Chase card hunters: The UPCs at 30 packs each give you the most pulls per product. But if Futuristic Rares follow typical ultra-rare pull rates, you may need multiple boxes worth of packs to hit one.

Display collectors: The Mini Tins (10 designs forming day and night images), Ditto Premium Collection's acrylic display, and UPC playmats all serve as display pieces beyond the cards themselves.
