Pokemon 30th Anniversary Card List, Products and Prices

The Pokemon TCG turns 30 in 2026, and The Pokemon Company is marking it with a dedicated expansion: 30th Celebration. It launched worldwide simultaneously on September 16, 2026.

Last updated: 15 October 2026. Wave 4 dates have moved: the 5 Booster Tin (the 5-pack Sylveon ex / Greninja ex tin at some retailers; other retailers sell the 4-pack version on December 4) stays on November 6, the Ditto Premium Collection and Figure Collection (Mew and Mewtwo) are now November 20, and the Ultra Premium Collections are now November 13. Other Australian retailers are expected to reflect the new dates, likely due to a supplier or distributor delay. Details and the retailer emails are in the pre-orders guide.

Update, September 26, 2026: Wave 1 has now come and gone. Pre-orders crashed sites or sold out almost instantly at every major Australian retailer. Kmart has since jumped ahead of its official Wave 4 date and opened (then sold out, largely to bots) online pre-orders for the Ultra Premium Collection at $360 AUD. Big W and Target have not yet opened their own UPC pre-orders. This is a collector-focused set. Every single card is foil, including Basic Energy. Every booster pack contains one of 30 unique Pikachu cards. There is a new rarity tier called Futuristic Rare. And a Classic Collection subset reprints iconic cards from the game's history.

What Makes This Set Different

Every Card Is Foil

Not just the rares. Every card pulled from a 30th Celebration booster pack has a foil treatment, including Common and Uncommon cards and Basic Energy. This mirrors how the 25th Celebrations set worked in 2021 and makes every pack opening feel premium.

30 Pikachu Cards

Each booster pack contains one Pikachu card from a set of 30 unique designs. These span Pikachu's history across the TCG's three decades. Completing the full Pikachu subset is a collecting goal in itself.

Futuristic Rare

A brand new rarity tier introduced specifically for this anniversary set. Details on pull rates and card count are still emerging, but Futuristic Rare cards sit above standard Ultra Rares in the rarity hierarchy. Expect these to be among the most sought-after pulls.

Classic Collection

A subset of reprinted cards from across the TCG's 30-year history. The Base Set Charizard and the Pikachu and Zekrom Tag Team GX have been officially confirmed as part of the Classic Collection. The Ultra-Premium Collections each include a dedicated Classic Collection booster pack containing three cards from this lineup.

Release Schedule: Four Waves

Products do not all drop on September 16. The 30th Celebration set follows a staggered release across five waves, similar to how Ascended Heroes handled its booster bundle timing. The Binder Collection was originally delayed to December 4, 2026 (Wave 5) globally - but Big W Australia has already started shipping it out now, so AU collectors are getting it alongside Wave 1 rather than waiting for Wave 5 like everywhere else.

No accessories, no promos. Just packs. Based on current EB Games pricing for bundles from other sets (~$59 AUD), this should land in a similar range. Mini Tins | Expected ~$15-20 AUD each

These are collectible packaging plays. The tins themselves become display pieces, and the day/night motif ties into the set's broader theme reflected in the Ultra-Premium Collections.

Wave 3: October 30, 2026

Battle Deck: Espeon ex and Umbreon ex | Expected ~$30-40 AUD each

Both decks are entirely foil, which is unusual for pre-built products. The Illustration Rare promos of Victini and Zeraora are exclusive to these decks, making them relevant for collectors even if you never shuffle them up.

Wave 4: November 6 to 20, 2026 (staggered, delayed from November 6)

Umbreon has been one of the most popular Pokemon in the TCG collecting space for years. The night-themed UPC with an exclusive Umbreon ex promo will likely be the harder of the two to find at retail.

Details on this product are still limited. The combination of two iconic legendary Pokemon as figures alongside 30th Celebration packs positions this as both a collecting and display piece.

Wave 5: December 4, 2026

Sylveon ex Tin / Greninja ex Tin | $45 AUD (4-pack) or $54 AUD (5-pack), confirmed via early AU retail sales

Not to be confused with the Wave 1 Sylveon ex Box / Greninja ex Box - same characters and promo art, but a genuinely separate product releasing almost three months later. Confusingly, it also ships in two different pack-count variants depending on the retailer:

• 4-pack tin (Kmart, Big W - $45): 4 booster packs + 1 foil promo. EAN 196214146969 (Sylveon), 196214147027 (Greninja).
• 5-pack tin (JB Hi-Fi - $54): 5 booster packs + 1 foil promo. EAN 196214146266.

If you've got a choice of retailer, the 5-pack works out cheaper per pack ($10.80/pack vs $11.25/pack) - worth checking which variant a store has before deciding where to buy.

The new Futuristic Rare rarity sits at the top of the pull rate hierarchy for this set. Card reveals are still rolling out, but these will be the most valuable pulls from 30th Celebration booster packs.

Classic Collection Reprints

Base Set Charizard and Pikachu and Zekrom Tag Team GX are confirmed. Additional Classic Collection cards have not been officially revealed yet. These reprints carry nostalgic weight and will be high on collector wishlists, particularly the Charizard.

The Classic Collection booster packs are exclusive to the Ultra-Premium Collections (Day and Night). Each UPC contains one Classic Collection pack with three cards.

The 30th Celebration is a substantially larger set. At 128 base cards versus 25, there is far more to collect. The staggered release schedule also spreads the buying window across nearly two months, which gives collectors more time to budget.

Where to Buy in Australia

Wave 1 pre-orders sold out or crashed the site at every major Australian retailer back on September 16. Here is where things stand now:

Major Retailers

• JB Hi-Fi sold through its Wave 1 pre-order allocation within the day. Watch for restocks and Wave 2/Wave 3 listings closer to those dates.
• EB Games carries the full product range, though its initial pricing on some Wave 1 and UPC pre-orders ran well above expected RRP before being revised - see CardTracker's prices Australia guide for the full breakdown of what happened there.
• Kmart has opened (and sold out, largely to bots) an online pre-order for the Ultra Premium Collection at $360 AUD, well ahead of the Ultra Premium Collection's Wave 4 date. Kmart's physical stores are otherwise in-store-only with no reservation system.
• Big W sold out its Wave 1 online pre-orders and has not yet opened a UPC pre-order. It did ship the Binder Collection early, alongside Wave 1, rather than waiting for its official Wave 5 slot.
• Target has not yet opened its own UPC pre-order either.
• Toymate sold through its Wave 1 pre-order allocation.
• Pokemon Center Australia has not released an Australian pre-order for any 30th Celebration product, including the Pokemon Center Exclusive ETB. Its online drops have historically been rare and unpredictable - do not plan around getting one direct from them.

Be cautious with pre-order pricing at any retailer that isn't a confirmed RRP source. Kmart's brief pre-order confirmed $360 AUD as the real UPC RRP - if you see a listing well above that (or an ETB above $150 AUD) before a major retailer has confirmed pricing, treat it as a markup rather than the real price. How to Approach the Set as a Collector

Budget collectors: Start with the ETB on September 16 for the best balance of packs, promos, and accessories. Add a booster bundle in Wave 2 for six more packs at strong cost-per-pack value.

Completionists: You will need at least one of every product type to collect all exclusive promos. Both UPC variants are essential for the Classic Collection packs and the exclusive Pikachu ex, Espeon ex, and Umbreon ex promos.

Chase card hunters: The UPCs at 30 packs each give you the most pulls per product. But if Futuristic Rares follow typical ultra-rare pull rates, you may need multiple boxes worth of packs to hit one.
