Last updated: 15 October 2026. Kmart, EB Games, Toymate and JB Hi-Fi have already sold out of the Ascended Heroes Focused Fighters Premium Collection online, ahead of its 30 October 2026 release date in Australia.
The Pokemon TCG Mega Evolution: Ascended Heroes Focused Fighters Premium Collection is the hardest sealed Pokemon product to find in Australia right now. It carries 14 Ascended Heroes booster packs and four exclusive foil promos, it started life as a US-only Sam's Club exclusive, and Australian online allocations have gone to bots, pre-orders and scalpers before most collectors knew there was a release date. This guide covers the release date, expected price, what is in the box, why it matters, and exactly where each Australian retailer stands today.
Focused Fighters release date and price in Australia
| Detail | Australia |
|---|---|
| In-store and embargo release date | 30 October 2026 |
| Expected retail price | $140 to $199 AUD |
| Kmart online price | $140 AUD (pre-order, shipping around 30 October) |
| Toymate pre-order price | $199 AUD |
| Secondary market and import asking prices | Roughly $400 AUD and up |
| US origin | Sam's Club exclusive, 21 July 2026 |
The 30 October date is the embargo and in-store release date. Online orders already placed with retailers are scheduled to ship around then. If you see a listing asking more than $199, you are looking at a reseller or importer, not a retailer.
What is in the Focused Fighters Premium Collection?
- 14 Mega Evolution: Ascended Heroes booster packs
- Four foil promo cards: Mega Hawlucha ex, Team Rocket's Mewtwo ex, N's Reshiram and N's Zekrom
- One oversize foil Mega Hawlucha ex that cannot be pulled from packs
It is a Pokemon TCG premium collection box built entirely around Ascended Heroes, with no other set's packs mixed in.
Why the Focused Fighters box is such an important product
Several things make this release matter more than a normal premium collection.
- It is an Ascended Heroes product, and Ascended Heroes is sold out everywhere. The set (ME2.5) released in Australia on 24 April 2026, is headlined by Mega Dragonite ex and has more than 290 cards. Every mass-market chain sold through its allocation long ago, as covered in our where to buy Ascended Heroes in Australia guide. This box is the first new way in months to buy sealed Ascended Heroes packs at retail price.
- 14 packs for $140 to $199. At $140 that is $10 a pack, and at $199 about $14.20 a pack, while Ascended Heroes booster bundles launched at roughly $9 a pack ($54 to $59 for six). You pay a premium for the promos, but still far below secondary market pack prices.
- The promos are actually pretty cool! Team Rocket's Mewtwo ex, N's Reshiram, N's Zekrom and an oversize Mega Hawlucha ex are not in regular Ascended Heroes products. See our Ascended Heroes chase cards guide for what else collectors are hunting from the set.
- It was not originally expected to reach Australian major retailers. The collection launched as a US-only Sam's Club exclusive on 21 July 2026, with a purchase limit. Some Australian importers sold it at several times retail. Australian retailers are now listing it, which changes the picture and is why demand has spiked.
- Allocation is small and the competition is organised. Premium collections are exactly what bots and resellers target, and this one has already been hit.
Which Australian retailers have sold Focused Fighters? (15 October 2026)
| Retailer | Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Kmart | Sold out online | Listed at $140 as a pre-order shipping around 30 October. Reports say the stock was bought out within minutes of the afternoon drop, with bots reportedly going straight to the checkout process and ignoring the normal search and product pages. |
| EB Games | Sold out online | Listed with a 30 October release date. Check store pick-up and in-store release day stock. |
| Toymate | Sold out online | Pre-order was listed at $199. The Toymate website has also been having technical issues. |
| JB Hi-Fi | Pre-sold out | Not expected to have any stock on release day. |
| Treasure Collectables | Sold | Sold at scalper prices, well above the expected retail range. |
| Big W | Not sold online yet | In-store allocation numbers are on our store inventory page. An online release may still come before 30 October. |
| Target | Not sold yet | Expected to sell both online and in store. |
| Costco | Expected to sell, no official word yet | Costco is expected to sell the Focused Fighters Premium Collection, but there has been no official confirmation. Treat it as a possibility, not a plan, and watch for a listing. |
| Other major retailers | Not sold yet | May sell online before release day, plus in-store allocation on 30 October. |
Status changes quickly. Check live availability on our cross-retailer stock page or set up CardTracker alerts so you hear the moment a retailer lists or restocks it.
What happened at Kmart
Rumours circulated on the morning of 15 October of a 1pm Kmart drop for the Ascended Heroes Focused Fighters Premium Collection and the 30th Celebration Ultra Premium Collections. Within about half an hour of the data becoming available, word spread that botting groups had bypassed the Kmart search and product pages entirely, bought out the stock directly through the technical checkout process, and passed on screenshots. We cannot independently verify the bot claims, but the pattern matches the earlier Kmart Ultra-Premium Collection pre-order, where no genuine customer on a standard browser could complete a purchase.

Grade with Ark →The Kmart botting situation, and a collector petition calling on retailers to do more about it, is now circulating in the news. 7NEWS reported on Pokemon card collectors telling retail giants to do more against the "plague" of bots "killing the hobby", including the petition started by a Melbourne father who could not buy 30th Celebration products for his daughters. The petition had around 4,400 signatures as of 15 October 2026. Kmart told the report it is reviewing customer feedback and will keep monitoring high-demand releases.
Please sign the petition and help the hobby for Australians. The more signatures it has, the harder it is for retailers and the media to ignore, and the better the chance that genuine collectors, not bots, get to buy the products they are waiting for.
How to still get a Focused Fighters box at retail price
- Do not rely on one retailer. Big W, Target and other chains have not sold it online yet, and Costco is expected to sell it too, although there is no official word on that yet. Watch all of them with restock alerts.
- Use the in-store route on 30 October. Big W has an in-store allocation, and we list store-level numbers on the store inventory page. Target is expected to sell in store as well. Quieter regional stores usually have better odds than busy city ones.
- Keep an eye on Kmart. We hope Kmart will cancel the orders it identifies as bot purchases and put that stock back on sale for genuine customers, but that is not guaranteed, so do not count on it. See our Kmart buying guide.
- Know the retailer guides. JB Hi-Fi, EB Games and Toymate have already pre-sold out and are not expected to sell any more, so focus on Big W, Target and other retailers that have not sold it yet. Each retailer, including EB Games, JB Hi-Fi and Toymate, has its own queue, limit and pre-order quirks.
- Keep alerts on after ordering. Pre-orders at inflated prices are sometimes cancelled, and you want to be able to re-buy quickly.
What about scalper prices?
Nobody wants to pay scalper prices, and you should not have to. Imported and resold copies are listed at around $400 to $420 AUD, two to three times the expected retail range. Our Ascended Heroes eBay deals page keeps watch for listings priced cheaper than normal, so you will see if a below-market copy turns up, and our market prices show what the set is trading for. As always on eBay, check the seller and make sure the box is genuinely sealed.
What is coming next
