Update, October 6, 2026: What's Happened Since Launch
- Wave 1 launched worldwide Sept 16 and sold out or crashed pre-order sites at every major Australian retailer.
- EB Games pricing backlash: Originally listed the ETB at $199 (vs the $100 RRP) and the UPC at $599 (vs the community-expected $360). After public backlash, EB Games revised pricing down to $120 for the ETB and roughly $465 for the UPC - still above RRP.
- Big W and JB Hi-Fi both held the ETB at the expected $100 RRP throughout.
- $360 UPC price confirmed: Kmart briefly opened online UPC pre-orders at exactly $360, but bots cleared the stock within minutes. Big W and Target have not yet opened their own UPC pre-orders.
