What We Know About Delta Reign So Far

Mega Rayquaza ex is back. Not a reprint, not a promo, but a full Mega Evolution ex card in a modern set for the first time since the XY era. Delta Reign drops November 6, 2026, and for Australian collectors tracking prices, the interesting question is not whether to buy. It is whether to wait.

The Japanese source set, Storm Emeralda, ships more than three months earlier on July 31. That gap creates a real decision window. Here is everything confirmed so far to help you make it.

Delta Reign in the Mega Evolution Series

Delta Reign is an English-language expansion in the Pokemon TCG Mega Evolution series. It is the Western counterpart to the Japanese set Storm Emeralda (ストームエメラルダ).

The pattern across this series is consistent. English Mega Evolution sets closely mirror their Japanese counterparts, arriving several months later with the same featured Pokemon and a re-themed set name. Delta Reign follows that template exactly.

November 6, 2026: Release Date and AU Pre-Orders

Delta Reign releases November 6, 2026 at participating retailers worldwide.

Australian pre-orders are already appearing. Hobbiesville has the Delta Reign booster box pre-order listed at $349.95 AUD.

Given Rayquaza's popularity, English demand is expected to be strong and pre-orders are advisable. If past Mega Evolution releases are any guide, waiting until launch week to order means competing with everyone else who waited. Set a price alert now and lock in a box before the hype cycle peaks.

Mega Rayquaza ex: Why This Card Matters

Mega Rayquaza ex is the confirmed set mascot for Delta Reign, appearing alongside other Mega Evolution Pokemon ex from the Legends: Z-A Mega Dimension era. It returns to the TCG as a Mega Evolution for the first time in the modern era.

The last time Mega Rayquaza appeared in English was during the XY generation. M Rayquaza-EX saw four unique English artworks across Roaring Skies and Ancient Origins. Those cards became defining pulls of the XY era.

Delta Reign bridges that history with the current Mega Evolution wave. Collectors who chased M Rayquaza-EX a decade ago now have a modern ex version to pursue, and newer collectors who know Rayquaza only from the video games get their first crack at a Mega Rayquaza pull. That crossover appeal is what makes this the chase card to watch.

What We Do Not Know Yet

The full card count and product lineup have not yet been announced. Several specifics are still missing:

• Total card count. No confirmed number yet. Expect this closer to October.
• Full product lineup. The expected products include a standard booster box of 36 packs (10 cards each) and an Elite Trainer Box with packs, sleeves, energy, and accessories. Whether there will be a UPC, special collections, or promo boxes remains unconfirmed.
• Chase card rarity tiers. We know Mega Rayquaza ex leads the set alongside other Mega Evolution Pokemon ex, but the full secret rare and illustration rare lineup has not been revealed.

This page will be updated as details are confirmed. If you want to know the moment new cards are revealed or prices shift, set up alerts and we will notify you.

Should You Import Storm Emeralda First?

Storm Emeralda, the Japanese source set, releases July 31, 2026. That is more than three months before the English Delta Reign launch on November 6.

Collectors who do not want to wait can import Storm Emeralda from Japanese retailers or resellers. But "can" and "should" are different questions.

Import if:

• You collect Japanese cards specifically and want them in hand months earlier.
• You want to see the full card list early and plan your English pulls around it.
• You are a content creator or seller who benefits from being first to market with reviews and pricing data.

Wait for Delta Reign if:

• You only collect English cards. Japanese and English cards do not mix well in a binder organised by set.
• You want Australian retail pricing and local consumer protections.
• You would rather put that import budget toward multiple English products on November 6.

The three-month gap also gives you time to watch Japanese pull rates and secondary market pricing before committing to English pre-orders. Storm Emeralda will reveal every card in the set well before Delta Reign ships, so patience has a concrete information advantage.
