Upcoming Pokemon TCG Sets 2027: Every Confirmed Release Date and How Each Set Lands in Australia

If you have been searching upcoming Pokemon TCG sets 2027, the sets with confirmed dates so far all sit in 2026. Six set dates run between the start of the year and its final release window, closing with Delta Reign, the sixth expansion of the Mega Evolution era. One of them, the 30th Celebration set, is the first Pokemon TCG set ever to launch worldwide on a single day. This guide runs through each confirmed date, what is in the product waves, and how the releases actually land in Australia. It covers those confirmed dates and leaves off the 2027 release schedule and the 2027 Standard rotation.

The 2026 calendar at a glance

The Mega Evolution era, inspired by Pokemon Legends: Z-A, carries the whole schedule. The confirmed dates, in order: Ascended Heroes on 30 January, Perfect Order on 27 March, Chaos Rising on 22 May, Pitch Black on 17 July, the 30th Celebration set on 16 September and Delta Reign on 6 November. Between the mainline windows, First Partner Illustration Collection Series 2, with the Johto, Unova and Galar starters, released on 19 June. Treat even confirmed dates as movable. Ascended Heroes was dated 30 January, Australian TCG news carried a delay with new release dates in early February, and the set was announced as released by 19 February.

Chaos Rising, 22 May

The May 2026 wave brought a Mega Lucario ex League Battle Deck and a Mega Zygarde ex Premium Collection alongside the Chaos Rising expansion itself. The expansion's main products landed on 22 May. The Chaos Rising display box holds 36 booster packs, each with 10 cards plus one Basic Energy. The standard Elite Trainer Box carries nine booster packs, a full-art Fennekin promo, 65 card sleeves, 40 Energy cards, damage-counter dice, a coin-flip die, a plastic coin and a sturdy storage box. The Pokemon Center edition of the box runs to 11 packs, two above the standard count, and adds a second full-art Fennekin promo, that one bearing the Pokemon Center stamp. The Build & Battle Box contains a 40-card deck ready for the Prerelease format with one of four unique foil promos, plus four booster packs. Six booster packs also come bundled together in one convenient package.

June's retail wave added the wide release of the Build & Battle Box on 5 June. It also brought Lumiose City Mini Tins carrying two booster packs, a sticker sheet and an art card, with five designs in the run, and a choice of four card-for-card replicas of decks from the 2025 World Championships in Anaheim.

30th Celebration, 16 September

TCGRadar calls this the biggest event of 2026: roughly 150 cards, all foil, in 6-card packs. The card list runs to Futuristic Rare cards by the artist YOSHIROTTEN featuring Mewtwo ex and Mew ex, 30 unique Pikachu illustrations, and 30 classic reprints including Base Set Charizard, plus Greninja ex, Sylveon ex and Espeon and Umbreon IRs. It is the first set in the game's history to launch worldwide on a single day, with the international product lineup rolling out in five waves through 4 December. Pokemon has also said future sets will not follow a global release schedule, so the simultaneous launch is not the new normal.

The set was flagged at a Pokemon Presents in 2026, with a teaser showing iconic cards from across the game's history, including Charizard from Base Set and the crystal Lugia from Aquapolis. The trailer's key art of Mew and Mewtwo carries an opalescent sheen that PokeBeach read as a possible hint at a new mechanic.

Delta Reign, 6 November

Delta Reign closes the year on 6 November as the sixth Mega Evolution expansion, adapting Japan's Storm Emeralda set from 31 July there. It runs Mega Rayquaza ex, Mega Golisopod ex, Mega Golurk ex and Mega Malamar ex across more than 135 cards, and introduces Legendary Stadiums, paired Stadium cards with connecting artwork. Prerelease events run 24 October to 1 November. Rayquaza cards consistently command premium prices, which is why TCGRadar ranks this the most anticipated main-series set of the year.

How the releases actually land in Australia

EB Games typically opens the most structured preorder programme, with specialist stores close behind, while major chains such as Kmart, BIG W and Target tend to list closer to release day.
