Pokemon Worlds 2026 Announcements for Collectors
Every Pokemon Worlds 2026 announcement that matters for card collectors: the four promo cards and their prices, the ex★ Mega reveal, and the 2027 Singapore Worlds.
Pokémon World Championships used to be a tournament that happened to hand out a few promo cards. The 2026 closing ceremony ran the other way: collectors walked out with more concrete product news than the players did.
A tournament that doubled as a card reveal
The event ran August 28-30, 2026 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, alongside the first-ever PokémonXP fan convention. Three days of competition carried a combined prize pool over $2,000,000. The closing ceremony, led by The Pokémon Company president and CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara, is where the card news landed.
Between four promo cards, a new series logo, and the first Mega cards to reach the TCG in years, the read was obvious: this was a product reveal wearing a tournament's jersey. The full announcement list is on IGN, but here's what moves card value.
The four Worlds 2026 promo cards, and what they cost
Four promo cards came out of Worlds 2026, and they sit at very different price points. All figures below are USD, from Beckett's market data.
The one that will cost you is Paradise Resort (MEP 092), the competitor welcome kit card. Naoki Saito illustrated it, with Pikachu and Psyduck on Lombard Street. The 2025 print tells you where this lands: English copies sold between $125 and $400, with a median near $190, while Spanish, Italian, German, Thai, and Korean copies settled around $30 to $50.
The cheapest way in is the Pikachu (MEP 093), the annual Worlds Pikachu. Anyone could earn one by playing a Worlds Celebration tournament at a local Play! Pokémon store between August 21-30, 2026. Its 2025 equivalent trades between roughly $5 and $19 raw, with a median near $10.
The rarest of the four is the WINNER variant of that same Pikachu. Winners of the Junior, Senior, and Masters divisions at each celebration tournament take home one stamped copy per age division, carrying the Play! Pokémon logo where the Worlds logo sits on the standard print.
Then there's the PokémonXP-stamped Rayquaza, card 153/217 from Ascended Heroes, handed to PokémonXP and Worlds attendees and exclusive to both events.
| Card | How to get it | Market signal |
|---|---|---|
| Paradise Resort MEP 092 | Competitor welcome kit | English $125-$400, median ~$190; non-English $30-$50 |
| Pikachu MEP 093 | Worlds Celebration tournaments | 2025 equivalent $5-$19 raw |
| Pikachu MEP 093 (WINNER) | One per age division per tournament | Limited distribution |
| Rayquaza 153/217 (PokémonXP) | Worlds / PokémonXP attendees | Event-exclusive stamp |
Supply this thin moves fast, which is exactly what CardTracker's price alerts are built for. Set one on the Rayquaza stamp before the event-exclusive copies get listed.
ex★ brings Mega cards back to the TCG
The biggest structural announcement was a new series logo: ex★, read as ex-Star. It brings Mega Lucario Z ex to the TCG for the first time, alongside Sigilyph ex. The teaser also showed Mega attack rare cards for Mega Darkrai, Mega Zygarde, Mega Greninja, and Mega Rayquaza.
If you collected through the last Mega era, this is the start of a new chase-card cycle, and Mega Lucario Z ex is the card to watch first. A new series logo means a new sealed product line behind it, which is where the pre-order and deal chatter begins.
The card-adjacent news that still moves prices
A few video-game and Pocket announcements feed demand for specific Pokémon, so they matter to value even if they aren't printed cards.
Pokémon TCG Pocket adds dual-type cards starting October 2026. Pokémon GO lets Mega-Evolved Pokémon carry a third Charged Attack and enter every level of GO Battle League, and it teases the return of Armored Mewtwo after six years. Pokémon Champions gets Z-Mega Evolutions on September 9, 2026: Mega Lucario Z, Mega Garchomp Z, and Mega Absol Z, with Mega Heatran teased.
Then there's Pokémon Wild Card, the first animated Pokémon movie in seven years, due in 2027 and following a TCG player and Mimikyu. Mimikyu collectors just got a whole film to point at.
Worlds 2027 goes to Singapore
The 2027 World Championships head to Singapore, running August 13-15, 2027. It's the first time Worlds returns to Asia since Yokohama in 2023, and for Australian collectors it's the closest host city in a long stretch.
A closer venue changes the economics of attending, and of flipping the exclusives you bring back. Event-exclusive promos from a near-neighbour Worlds will flow into Australian hands faster than anything out of San Francisco or Yokohama.
The rest of the closing ceremony
Pokémon UNITE finished out its Eevee line with Morpeko on September 4, Toxtricity Amped Form on September 24, and Jolteon and Flareon in October. UNITE also leaves the Worlds stage for good, replaced by a standalone Aeos Crown 2027 Tokyo tentatively set for late March 2027.
The Worlds Welcome Kit included a deck box, card sleeves, and a playmat, with a separate Champions line awarded to World Champions. Pokémon Center also sold the first-ever PokémonXP celebratory Pikachu plush at the event.
Most of this isn't chase-card territory, but the Welcome Kit gear and the plush are the kind of event-only merch that shows up on secondary markets within weeks and drifts upward once supply dries up.
