One Piece TCG Booster Boxes Ranked: What to Buy

Every One Piece TCG booster box in release order, ranked by chase cards, sealed demand and what's actually worth buying in Australia.

Published 18 September 2026 β€’ 8 Min Read

Most One Piece TCG set rankings read like they were written for an American collector who already has a full cart of singles. They tell you OP-05 is the best box, then leave you to guess what "best" means for an Australian buyer watching conversion rates and hunting sealed product that actually ships here.

The problem is that release order is not the same as buy order. A box that was a bargain in 2023 can be a trap in 2026, and a box nobody cared about last year can quietly become the one you wish you'd bought. This article sorts every English set into a tier based on what makes a box worth opening or holding today, not what made a good headline when it launched.

Every Set in Release Order

Before the rankings, the map. The English game launched with OP-01 Romance Dawn in December 2022, and as of September 2026 there are 17 main English booster sets, from OP-01 through to OP-17 . On top of those sit extra boosters (EB), premium boosters (PRB), starter decks (ST) and promos (P) .

The codes matter when you shop. OP means a main booster, EB means an extra booster, PRB is a premium booster, ST a starter deck, P a promo . In a card code like OP07-051, the OP07 part names the set and 051 is the card number . Knowing this keeps you from overpaying for a smaller EB or PRB box while thinking you're getting a full main-set box.

Main boosters, in English release order:

Set Release Signature pull
OP-01 Romance Dawn Dec 2022 Manga Shanks
OP-02 Paramount War
OP-03 Pillars of Strength
OP-04 Kingdoms of Intrigue Sabo Manga Alt Art
OP-05 Awakening of the New Era Dec 2023 Gear 5 Luffy, three manga rares
OP-06 Wings of the Captain
OP-07 500 Years in the Future
OP-08 Two Legends
OP-09 Emperors in the New World Dec 13, 2024 Gold manga Roger
OP-10 Royal Blood First Event Manga Rares
OP-11 A Fist of Divine Speed
OP-12 Legacy of the Master
OP-13 Carrying On His Will Luffy, Ace, Sabo manga rares
OP14-EB04 Egghead Crisis material
OP15-EB04 Egghead Crisis material
OP-16 The Time of Battle
OP-17 The World's Strongest Warriors Aug 28, 2026 Fourth-anniversary set

That OP14-EB04 and OP15-EB04 naming is worth pausing on. English OP-14 and OP-15 absorbed material from Japan's EB-04 Egghead Crisis, so they carry a combined code instead of EB-04 getting its own standalone English box . You won't find a separate English EB-04 product, and anyone selling one labelled that way deserves a closer look.

What Makes a Box Worth Buying

Four things decide whether a sealed box earns its keep, and they pull in different directions depending on what you want out of it.

The first is the chase card lineup. A box is only as exciting as its top pull, and One Piece collectors grade sets almost entirely on the manga-rare tier at the top. The second is sealed box demand and price trajectory, which is where a cheap box with a weak chase card can still beat an expensive box with a famous one. The third is competitive relevance, because cards players need to actually build decks hold value even after the hype fades. The fourth is the collector-focused card types Bandai keeps adding to keep openings interesting.

That last factor has been moving fast. Starting with OP-10, Bandai introduced Event Manga Rares, an entirely new ultra-premium chase category that made sealed boxes more exciting to open . Every set since has had to answer a sharper question: does the top end carry enough to justify the box price?

Taken together, these five levers, character demand, manga-rare distribution, anime timing, meta impact and collector card types, are what move One Piece set values up and down . Each expansion has proven highly valuable on both fronts, competitive impact and secondary-market demand, which is exactly why you can't ignore the lagging sets .

S-Tier: The Boxes Everyone Wants

Three sets sit above the rest for collectors, and the reasons are specific.

OP-05 Awakening of the New Era is the strongest set the game has produced, full stop. Released in December 2023 as the first-anniversary set, it packs three manga rares into a single box: Gear 5 Monkey D. Luffy, Trafalgar Law and Eustass Kid . The Gear 5 Luffy manga alt is the card that defines the ceiling of One Piece collecting, the ultimate chase for a reason . When a set contains the single most-wanted card in the game plus two more manga rares, it becomes the default answer to "which box should I buy."

OP-09 Emperors in the New World, out December 13, 2024, is the other set collectors name in the same breath . Its centrepiece is the golden manga rare Gol D. Roger, one of the most unique cards ever printed, sitting alongside manga rares of all Four Emperors: Luffy, Shanks, Buggy and Blackbeard . That density of marquee characters in one top tier is rare, and it gives the box a floor that quieter sets simply don't have.

OP-13 Carrying On His Will is the emotional buy. It carries manga rares of Luffy, Ace and Sabo plus an additional red manga-rare variant, four collector-level versions in a single release . The Marineford brother storyline gives it a different kind of appeal than a purely hype-driven set . Players chasing deck staples and collectors chasing the trio both have a reason to open it, which keeps demand broader than a single-card box.

A-Tier: Historic and High-Density

Under the S-tier sits the set that started it all and the set that reinvented reprints.

OP-01 Romance Dawn is the grail box for a reason. Its headline pull, the Manga Alternate Art Shanks, commands between $1,400 raw and well over $5,000 in a PSA 10 slab . Sealed early print runs, especially the blue-bottom boxes, sell for thousands of dollars . At this point it is a sealed-investment product as much as a card product, and the price reflects it.

OP-04 Kingdoms of Intrigue earns its spot on two fronts. The Sabo Manga Alternate Art fetches anywhere from $600 to over $1,100 when professionally graded , and the set fundamentally reshaped the competitive metagame by introducing versatile deck archetypes . That combination of a real chase card and real play impact is rarer across the line than it looks.

PRB-01 One Piece Card The Best, out November 2024, is the first premium reprint set and the highest-density box for a different kind of buyer . The dream pull is the God Pack, an ultra-rare pack holding ten different Manga Alternate Art cards worth thousands of dollars collectively . Singles from the set, like the PRB-01 Manga Nami and exclusive Gold DON cards, run from several hundred to over two thousand dollars depending on condition . It's reprint-heavy, yes, but the alternate-art and foil adds give it a hit ceiling most main sets can't touch.

The Rest of the Field: Solid Boxes, Specific Reasons

B-tier boxes aren't weak, they're specific.

OP-10 Royal Blood matters because it's the set that introduced Event Manga Rares, the new top-tier chase category, which made it a milestone even before its card list . OP-11 and OP-08 offer targeted appeal for specific character fans. OP-17 The World's Strongest Warriors, released August 28, 2026, is Bandai's fourth-anniversary set and the first under worldwide simultaneous releases, which changes how Australian buyers should think about timing .

C-tier is where nostalgia lives without the trajectory. OP-02 Paramount War, OP-03 Pillars of Strength and OP-06 Wings of the Captain all have fan-favourite characters, but none carries a chase card or sealed trajectory that competes with the boxes above. They're fine to open for fun or to round out a collection. They're not where you park money.

Extra Boosters, Premium Boosters, and Which Box to Buy

The smaller products sit alongside the main line. EB-01, EB-02, and EB-03 are extra boosters. EB-05 One Piece Heroines Edition Vol.2 is announced for October 2026, with no exact English street date confirmed yet .

So which box should you buy? That depends on the goal, not on the ranking.

If you're a collector chasing the ceiling, OP-05 is the answer, with OP-09 as the close second. If you're a player, check which deck you actually want to run and buy the set that supports it, then pick up singles for the rest. If you're a sealed investor, OP-01 blue-bottom boxes and PRB-01 God Pack stock are the long holds . If you're new and just want a good opening experience, a recent premium or anniversary box beats gambling on an overpriced old set.

Whichever bucket you fall into, the buy decision starts with what's actually listed and in stock in Australia today. CardTracker runs live One Piece booster box deal pages, so you can jump straight from a rankings decision to a current deal on a booster box instead of wading through individual retailer listings. Where a set is sold out or overpriced, restock alerts catch the box coming back before it vanishes again.

One note before you spend: the dollar figures in this guide are US secondary-market values. Treat them as a relative guide to which cards carry weight, not as the price you'll pay in Australian dollars on a local listing. The gap between what a US guide calls a "good buy" and what's actually stocked at a fair price here is exactly where a real buy decision gets made.
